Garage Sale

We had a garage sale Saturday which is exhausting itself but then we also decided to rearrange all of the kids rooms. LONG DAY!!

Here's the story ...

We still have had a few items left in the garage from the furniture business closing so we really wanted to sell them and get the stuff out of our garage! About mid-day none of the big stuff was selling so I decided to come in and list them online for dirt cheap with the understanding that we wanted them out of our garage that day.

The phone started ringing off the hook! We had someone drive up from Salt Lake for one of the items and another drive from Wyoming! I also had a damaged bunk bed that people started calling about and wanting to know where the damage was and how bad. I took a picture for someone and realized that it was on a baseboard below where the mattress sits so it wouldn't be visible. I gave someone the good news with the understanding that they would leave about 10 minutes later to come get it. I hung up the phone & told Dan I wished we would have realized sooner the damage was hidden because we could get more money for it or could have used it ourselves. After talking with Dan, we decided to use it ourselves! Dan said if we were going to keep them they had to be set up that day, so we moved the toddler beds out to the yard sale and then started the process. We also decided to shuffle who sleeps where so that just added to the mess.

There also was a under bed storage system we bought for the boys future bunk bed and then never were able to get their bed so we decided to raise their current bunk and put the system in. It took ALL day! We finished all the kids rooms but my loft is still not recovered! There are piles of things that need to be put back it place.

At the end of the day Saturday I told Dan I was taking him out for tacos. We drove to Tony's Tacos only to find them closed so we drove to Midway hoping another yummy place would still be open. We pulled in the parking lot and they looked closed but their door was open. Dan went and talked to the owner and they told us to come on in. We were in and out in 30 minutes and scarfed our food down! It was quite the site to see as we were both famished! We should have videoed it ...

Icky stuff!

Well after the field trips last week and then having the sun beat down on me at Jacob's soccer dinner, I got heat exhaustion. It was horrible! I had the worst headache I have ever experienced and was queasy and nauseous for 2 days. Luckily that has past.

Jacob came home Friday with a mild fever and stomach pains that are still there after 3 days. Hailey smashed her pinky on Friday and it is starting to get infected, and Danny needs a physical for scout camp so we are off to the Doctor in a couple of hours. Hailey's finger looks horrible! When she came in with it I couldn't even look at it without feeling like I was going to throw up. My sister's right I couldn't handle my baby having open-heart surgery!! In my defence it was the day I was so sick from heat exhaustion! I called Dan asking when he was going to be home because I couldn't handle it.

Caleb

It has been a couple of years since I've blogged so I better catch up! In August of last year I had our 7th child! We were so excited to welcome Caleb to our family. He is now 9 months old and we LOVE him so much. He is a pure joy to our family.

We sure love him!!

Savannah riding a bike

I went to pick Savannah up from a friends house and she was outside riding a bike WITHOUT training wheels! I was so shocked! She said her friend Ellie taught her how. She told her what to do and then Savannah just kept practicing. It has been about 2 weeks and now she rides like a pro, I'll have to post another video.

Starting Again!

I am going to start blogging again!!!!! I know I was never good at it but my sister-in-law has me blogging on a family blog so I thought I might as well publish here at the same time. So please come back!! I promise I won't dissapoint ... well aleast not this week!

Family Time

Spring Break we took the kids to some local attractions. This is at Kennecott Copper Mine. It wasn't our traditional trip to the sunshine of Arizona but they still had a great week.

A fun picture at a park in Midway.

Sunday we decided to drive down to Cove Fort for a little adventure and to teach the kids a little about Church History in the area. We had a blast but realized about half-way there that it wasn't the 1 1/2 hour drive that I thought it was. Oops!

Field Trips Galore!

We are at the end of year "busyness" with field trips, CORE testing, field days, etc. This week Hailey had a field trip to Kamas Pool. Katie, Caleb, and I had a lot of fun spending the day at the pool with the entire second grade.

Savannah had a field trip the same day to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake. Dan was able to meet up with her for a couple hours. They had a lot of fun on the climbing wall and visiting the weather station.

Yesterday Jacob had a field trip to "This is the Place Heritage Park". Katie and I had so much fun spending the day with Jacob and the 4th grade. We will definitely be going back for a visit before the summer is out.

Last night Jacob had a end of season soccer banquet which was a lot of fun. He enjoyed playing with all his soccer buddies. Also, the elementary school had a night where the kids could show off their artwork for the year. It was a challenge fitting everything in but we were able to make an appearance at all of their events.

We can't wait for school to be out next week!! We are ready for no more schedules!

Here's recent pictures of Danny, Amber, and Caleb ... just so we're all represented. :-)

Sweet Children

I work in Primary (Sunday School for children ages 3-11) at church. Our Presidency was called in August and we had the Primary Program in September. Needless to say, we didn't feel very qualified or prepared to have the Program so soon but we went with it.

Anyway the program was last Sunday. It turned out so well - it was such a relief. Then on Monday one of the seven year old girls made a picture/note for me and brought me cookies. It was so sweet. She thanked me for making Primary fun for her. I loved it. Her mom told me that it was all the daughters doing. Anyway what a sweetie!!

The end is coming . . . I hope :~]

We are in over a month and counting since our family came down with the Nasty Parasite that is afflicting Utah's pools. The last week in August is when we first got sick. There was a short time about two weeks ago that I thought we were in the clear. Then it finally struck me. Last week I came down with all of the symptoms of the bug. The same day Hailey came down with a fever and terrible cough. By the end of the week the two little girls had the cold symptoms as well.

Luckily Hailey and I are better now but yesterday I had to take Savvy into the Dr. because she had kept me up half of the night with sore ears. She had infections in both ears. Poor thing!

While we were at the Doctor a neighbor was there also and she mentioned that their family had had strep. All I could think was great . . . if strep is going around someone in our family will come down with it!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will just walk right past our house and leave us alone. We've had enough!
